Selling Online Shouldn't Be Complicated
There's a gap between what most eCommerce platforms promise and what actually happens. You sign up for Shopify or Squarespace, spend a weekend trying to figure it out, and end up with something that works well enough but not quite right — and then you're still paying every month for a site you're not confident in.
I take a different approach. You tell me what you're selling. I build the store, set up the payment processing, load your products, and hand you something that works. You don't need to understand any of the technical side.
What I Build
Every eCommerce site I build is tailored to the business. The structure of a fabric retailer shipping internationally is very different from a local trades supplier taking orders for collection. I talk through your requirements first and plan the build accordingly.
A standard eCommerce build includes:
- Product pages with images, descriptions, pricing, and variants
- Category structure and filtering so customers find what they're looking for
- A secure checkout with card payments (Stripe) and PayPal
- Order confirmation emails sent automatically to you and your customer
- An order management area so you can see and process what's come in
- Stock tracking so products go out of stock automatically when inventory runs out
- Mobile-first design — most online shopping happens on phones
More Complex Stores
Some stores need more than the basics. I've built stores with:
- Customer uploads — letting buyers add logos or artwork to products, with dynamic pricing based on options chosen
- Made-to-order flows — product configurators that generate work orders for production
- Paywalled digital products — downloadable files or courses protected behind a purchase
- Google Product Feed — syncing your catalogue to Google Shopping for paid and organic visibility
- Facebook shop integration — connecting your WooCommerce catalogue to a Facebook/Instagram shop
- Accounting integrations — linking orders to QuickBooks or Xero automatically
If your requirements are more involved, I'll scope it out with you and give you a clear quote before starting.
International Selling
If you're selling beyond the UK, I set up multi-currency, country-specific shipping rates, and VAT/tax handling so the right rates are applied at checkout. I've built stores shipping to Europe, North America, and worldwide — including handling product restrictions for specific markets.
Fully Managed
An eCommerce site isn't something you set up once and forget. Payment gateways update, plugins need patching, and the checkout needs to keep working every day. My monthly management covers all of this — security updates, WooCommerce compatibility checks, and support when something needs changing.
If you need to add products, change prices, or update shipping rates, you send me a message and I'll make the change, usually within one business day.
Who I Build For
I build eCommerce sites for small and medium-sized businesses across the UK — from sole traders selling handmade goods to established retailers with hundreds of product lines. If you're currently selling through a marketplace like Etsy or eBay and want your own store, or if you have a physical shop and want to move some trade online, I can help.
Get in touch and tell me what you're trying to sell. I'll take it from there.
