A Website Is Not a Set-and-Forget Product

A lot of tradespeople have paid for a website, had it built, and then never thought about it again. That might work for a while. But websites need maintenance. The software they run on gets security updates. Hosting infrastructure changes. Browsers update. A site that worked fine two years ago can quietly start misbehaving — loading slowly, displaying oddly on new phones, or throwing errors on the contact form — without anyone noticing until it starts costing you enquiries.

DCS treats your website as an ongoing responsibility, not a finished product. Once I build your site, I keep watching it.

What Ongoing Management Actually Covers

Hosting and Infrastructure

Your site lives on fast, reliable hosting infrastructure. I manage the server-side setup, handle updates to the underlying platform, and make sure your site stays performant. You never need to know what any of this means — that's the point.

SSL Certificate

The padlock in your browser's address bar. It tells visitors your site is secure and it's a signal Google uses when ranking sites. I handle the certificate — it's renewed automatically and you'll never see a "not secure" warning on your site.

Domain Registration

Your domain is kept registered and pointed correctly at your site. Domain renewals are handled without you needing to think about them. I'll let you know when a renewal is due and take care of it.

Security and Software Updates

Websites run on software that gets updated regularly. I apply updates promptly, testing to make sure nothing breaks before pushing changes live. Outdated software is the number one way websites get hacked — I stay on top of it so you don't have to.

Content Updates

This is the part most tradespeople use most. Changed your phone number? Added a new service? Got a new photo from a recent job? Want to add a testimonial a customer left you? Just message me. I'll make the change and let you know when it's done.

These changes can stack up over the lifetime of a website — new services added, old ones retired, prices updated, areas expanded. I handle all of it as part of the relationship.

Uptime Monitoring

I monitor your site 24 hours a day. If it goes offline — for any reason — I get an alert and deal with it. You won't find out your website has been down for three days because a customer told you.

No Surprise Bills

Everything included in management is covered by your monthly fee. There are no additional invoices for routine content changes, no separate renewal notices for your domain, no charges for applying a security update. You know what you're paying each month and it stays the same.

The only thing that might incur an additional cost is significant new work — for example, if you wanted a completely new section built, a full website redesign, or a brand new integration. I'll always tell you upfront if something falls outside the scope of standard management before doing any work.

The Relationship Matters

I've built my service around the kind of relationship where you don't have to think about the website. You're busy on-site, dealing with customers, running your business. The last thing you want is a tech problem to deal with on top of everything else.

When something comes up — and eventually something always does — you want to be able to message someone you trust and know it'll be handled. That's what I'm here for.

I work with tradespeople across the UK. Most of my clients are people who just want a working website and no hassle. That's exactly what I aim to deliver.

I was spending £80 a month on a website that wasn't getting me anything. Now I pay less and actually get enquiries.

Common questions

What's included in management?

Hosting, SSL certificate, domain, security updates, software updates, uptime monitoring, and content changes. If you need a new page added, a phone number updated, a photo swapped out, or any other change to the site, just ask — it's all included.

How do I request a content change?

Send me a message — WhatsApp, email, or through my contact form, whichever you prefer. Tell me what you need changed and I'll handle it, usually within one business day. No tickets, no systems to learn, no faff.

What if my site breaks?

I monitor your site around the clock. If something goes down — whether it's a hosting issue, a failed update, or anything else — I'm on it before most people would even notice. You don't need to report it. If you do notice something odd, just message me and I'll fix it the same day.

Do I own my domain?

Yes. Your domain is registered in your name. If you ever decide to move to a different provider, you take it with you. I don't hold your domain hostage. The same goes for your content — everything that goes into your site is yours.

What happens if I want to cancel?

You can cancel with 30 days' notice. I'll export everything and hand it over to you. There are no lock-in contracts — I'd rather earn your business by doing a good job than by trapping you in terms and conditions.

How quickly do you respond?

I aim to respond to all messages within a few hours during business hours, Monday to Friday. Urgent issues — site down, contact form broken — get handled faster. You'll never be waiting days to hear back.

The other five.

Every one of them is something I already do for the sites I look after. Nothing here is a bolt-on somebody else delivers.
