Bexhill Removals are a removals company covering the East Sussex coast. When they came to me they had no website and no strong brief — they knew they needed something professional, but weren't sure what that should look like.

That lack of a brief can be a problem, or it can be an opportunity. In this case it was an opportunity.

The Challenge

A removals company website has a clear job to do: convince someone who's about to go through one of life's more stressful experiences that this is the team they want handling their belongings. The site needs to feel trustworthy, professional, and easy to contact. Beyond that, the design brief was open.

The risk with a completely open brief is ending up with something generic. The opportunity is to do something that's genuinely well-suited to the business rather than defaulting to a template.

The Solution

With creative freedom to choose the direction, I started by looking at competitor sites across the local removals market. The pattern was clear: most were cluttered, outdated, or both. There was space to stand out simply by being clean and professional.

I designed a minimal site that uses Bexhill Removals' brand colours as the backbone of the visual identity — integrated naturally so the design feels coherent rather than constructed. The layout is simple by intention: clear service information, a prominent phone number, and a contact form. No unnecessary elements competing for attention.

I presented the design as a mock-up before building anything. Bexhill Removals liked it first time. I built it.

The Results

The site went live as designed, first time, without revisions. Bexhill Removals now have a professional online presence that holds its own against established competitors in the area. The minimal approach means the site loads quickly and works well on mobile — where most people searching for a removals company will find them.

Getting a clean first-time approval is a good outcome for everyone. It means the brief was understood, the design made sense for the business, and I didn't spend time on revisions that wouldn't have improved the result. Sometimes the best brief is the one that gives you room to think.

In short

What it did.
